The organization needs a new location in or near Richardson, Texas, between 2,000 and 4,000 square feet. The current lease ends soon, and the landlord might double the rent if a new space isn't found by November.
A commercial broker named Greg is helping with the search at no cost to the organization.
The preference is to stay east of highway 75 to keep the location familiar to members and to distinguish the space from other maker spaces.
A move might require an increase in member dues to cover higher costs.
The group is working on two projects for UT Dallas's Epics program: a filament press to recycle old filament and a tabletop vacuum former.
A member suggested hosting an open house at the new location, possibly on Small Business Saturday, to attract new members and showcase projects.
