Member Meeting Minutes Summary: June 4th
Meeting Introduction and Elections
The meeting started by informing attendees about the ongoing election.
The election form is officially open and has been published by the secretary.
There were some audio issues at the beginning of the meeting, which were resolved.
The most important item for the evening was the election.
Health and Safety
As decided last month, the organization is no longer actively tracking COVID-19.
Members are encouraged to talk to others if they observe unsafe behavior; if uncomfortable, they should contact leadership for intervention.
Facilities Updates
Trogdor (Laser Cutter): Trogdor is effectively “burninating vectors” with its new Arduino Uno brain.
Future Trogdor Improvements: Plans include implementing an automated Z-probe and better webcam alignment over the summer.
Exhaust Troubleshooting: An issue with the exhaust system is being troubleshooted. Chris and the president checked the roof and confirmed no blockages there, so the next step is to “chimney sweep” the 50 linear feet of exhaust piping, which will be a dusty process.
Financials
June rent cleared on the 3rd.
The current financial balance is $19.4K, down from $20.3K last month, which included extra income. The need for more funds was mentioned.
Leadership Transition and Next Steps
The current president announced he is not allowed to be president in the coming term and has campaigned for Tim to take the position. Tim has agreed to run for president.
The initial straw poll for elections shows an overwhelming lead for Mr. Rayburn to become president.
The regular member meeting concluded, and the combined meetings are now done.
The new board will likely announce future meeting times and dates via Discord.
Elections will continue for approximately one more hour for forms to be submitted.
